Brandon Keith Ellenberger, 20, of Haysville Road, Petrolia, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Saturday as the result of an auto-pedestrian accident on Haysville Road in Fairview Township.

He was born in Pittsburgh, April 7, 1990, and was the son of Brian K. Ellenberger of Hilliards and Karyn Ritenour of Haysville Road, Petrolia.

Brandon attended the Holy One of Israel Tabernacle in Portersville when younger, had attended Karns City High School and then graduated with the Moniteau High School Class of 2010. During high school, he was a member of both the Moniteau and Karns City High School football teams and was a member of the Karns City track team.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skateboarding, watching movies with his family and spending time with his many friends who knew him as the "class clown."

He had been employed at the mushroom mine. During high school, he attended Butler Vo-Tech, where he studied carpentry, house framing and roofing.

He is survived by his mother, Karyn Ellenberger and his stepfather, Shawn Crawford, both of Haysville Road, Petrolia; his father, Brian K. Ellenberger of Hilliards and his fiancee, Cathy Chaffin-Steele of Chicora; his paternal grandparents, Larry and Linda Geibel Ellenberger of Karns City; his maternal grandfather, Oliver "Pete" Ritenour of East Brady; two great-grandmothers, Mrs. Gloria Chuhra of Renfrew and Mrs. Lois Geibel of Butler; two brothers, Justin Matthew Ellenberger of Hilliards and Deric Crawford of Haysville Road, Petrolia; two sisters, Bethanie Crawford of Petrolia and Ella Kisling of Portersville; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Deal Ritenour, in 1972.
