Samuel R. Schaub
Samuel R. Schaub, 91, of New Sewickley Township, Beaver County, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday evening at UPMC Passavant hospital, North Hills.
Born in Marion Township, May 21, 1919, he was the son of Robert and Nettie (Pflug) Schaub.
Mr. Schaub served during World War II with the Army Air Corps engineers in the European theater.
He retired from Ziegler Roofing & Heating.
Sam was a lifelong active member of Burry's Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bertha (Zahn) Schaub; a daughter, Nancy Welch and her husband, Jim, of Boswell, Somerset County; sons, Dale Schaub and his wife, Debbie, of Atlanta, Ga., Ken Schaub and his wife, Debbie, of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Bob Schaub and his wife, Marlene, of New Sewickley Township; and nine grandchildren, Lindsay, Chris, Bekah, Matt, Kevin and Kaitlyn Schaub, Nikki George, Christi Meyer and Kyle Welch. He also is survived by six great-grandchildren; and five sisters-in-law, Lila, Dorothy and Helen Schaub, Viola Blinn and Virginia Zahn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Blinn; and four brothers, Daniel, Eugene, Clifford and Harold.
<B>SCHAUB</B> — Friends of Samuel R. Schaub, who died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Friends also will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Burry's Church, 1835 Route 68, Rochester, New Sewickley Township, where funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Sunday.
