Monday — Eric J. Dean, 28, of Lyndora was arrested at a home on East Jefferson Street following a pair of disturbing calls to police and the Butler County Children and Youth Services agency.One call reported Dean was being held against his will because of an unpaid debt. CYS, meanwhile, responded to a call that children at the home were in danger due to men with guns there.Police got to the home and found Dean, who said he was OK; however, officers believed he was acting “extremely nervous,” according to court documents.A search turned up a baggie containing 17 pills in his pocket, police said. A drug field test came back positive for cocaine, documents said.Officers, meanwhile, seized a .380-caliber pistol, .22-caliber rifle and a box of ammunition from the home.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Dean on a charge of felony drug possession. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

2:17 p.m. Saturday — Benjamin D. Davidson, 32, of Butler was caught trying to shoplift a cell phone at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. He is charged with retail theft.2:40 p.m. Nov. 16 — Two boys face drug charges after one of the youths allegedly sold the other one suspected marijuana at Butler Intermediate High School.Police found the buyer with the marijuana on a bus at the school. That boy is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.The alleged seller is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Both boys are charged in juvenile court. Police did not identify the youths.

10:15 a.m. Monday — Richard Palicia, 50, of Grove City was hurt when he rear-ended another vehicle at North Broad and Chestnut streets. Palicia was taken to Grove City Medical Center with unknown injuries. Ralph Oakes, 50, of Sharpsville, Mercer County, was driving the other vehicle.Saturday — A bicycle was found near the Grove City High School. The bike was stuck in the pine trees located near the school and appeared to have been there for a lengthy period of time.The owner can claim the bike by calling police at 724-458-7925.Friday — Various men's and women's clothing were stolen from a washer located on the northeast wall of the Grove City Coin Laundry on West Main Street. The theft happened between 8 and 11 p.m.

3:40 a.m. Sunday — Joseph Switzer, 28, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 near Muddy Creek Drive in Center Township.12:30 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Kayla Schwer, 22, of Butler struck a deer on Route 68 near Dogwood Lane in Connoquenessing Township.

10:30 a.m. Friday — A handgun was found on Center Church Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-598-2211.
