Norris

Charles P. Norris Sr., 88, formerly of West North Street, Butler, died Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

He was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Oil City, a son of the late Charles T. and Mary McGreehan Norris.

During World War II, Mr. Norris served in the U.S. Marines.

He was retired from Butler Armco. He worked in the stainless shipping department and retired in 1985 after 25 years.

He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. He also was a member of the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club.

His wife, Frankie Blystone Norris, who he married Sept. 1, 1945, preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 2008. His son, Larry Thomas Norris, one brother, one sister and a half sister also preceded him in death.

Surviving are his daughter, Kathleen Wheeler and her husband, Gary Wheeler, of Butler; three sons and their wives, Charles P. and Norma Norris, Kenneth M. Norris and Christopher S. and Sandy Norris, all of Butler; and a sister and her husband, Josephine and Richard Kolanda of Fort Myers, Fla. Ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive him.

<B>NORRIS</B> — Friends of Charles P. Norris Sr., who died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in North Oakland.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Saturday at the church to recite the rosary.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
