State Police, ButlerThursday — Police charged Zachary C. Steele, 26, of Freeport with driving under the influence stemming from a traffic stop a 1:08 a.m. Nov. 7 on Route 422 at Widenhofer’s in Summit Township. Police also cited Steele for careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.

State Police, New Castle8:49 a.m. Wednesday — Sarah F. Aiken, 67, of Ellwood City was hurt when she intentionally drove her sport utility vehicle up an embankment to avoid two vehicles stopped on Princeton Road near Cherry Tree Lane in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Aiken, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Ellwood City Hospital with minor injuries.
