Jewel Lucille Watson

Jewel Lucille Watson of Slippery Rock, formerly of Fombell, will celebrate her 100th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 20 at Grace Church in Harmony.

The former Jewel Rippy was born Nov. 22, 1910, in Stoney, Texas.

She married Lester Watson on Nov. 15, 1930, at their pastor’s home in Stonewall, Okla. Her husband is deceased.

She has five children, Wyndle Watson of Mars, Homer Watson of Clarion, Gilbert Watson of Sarver, Jack Watson of Grove City and Patricia Brown of Jamestown, Pa.

She also has 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Watson was a schoolteacher for 43 years. She belongs to Grace Church in Harmony.
