Flinner 65th anniversary
Samuel and Thelma Flinner of Prospect celebrated 65 years of marriage with a family dinner.
Flinner married the former Thelma Jean Scheidemantle on Nov. 3, 1945, at St. Peter’s Reformed Church in Middle Lancaster.
They have four children, DuWayne Flinner and Ronald Flinner, both of Prospect, Debra Flinner of Carnegie and Kimberly Cunningham of Imperial. A son is deceased.
They also have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Flinner is a veteran of the Army Air Corps Fifth Air Force. He was a pilot of B24s with a crew of 10 in the South Pacific theater for many missions. He is a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mrs. Flinner was a former government worker in Baltimore before marriage. She was a member of the Ladies Aid at her church for more than 50 years.
The Flinners belong to St. John’s Lutheran Stone Church, where they have both been active for many years.
