Tuesday — Police found a bicycle at the Grove City Middle School. The bicycle was reported to have been there for three weeks. The owner can claim it by calling police at 724-458-7925
Oct. 27 — Christopher Cable, 23, of Franklin, Venango County, was arrested in connection with the alleged theft of a gun and gun safe from Gun World on South Main Street. Cable is accused of buying the items, worth $2,865, with a check written on a closed bank account Sept. 28. He was arraigned on felony counts of theft by deception and receiving stolen property, and a misdemeanor charge of bad checks. He is free on his own recognizance.
6:15 p.m. Wednesday — Vehicles driven by Viola Yartz, 73, and Deborah Bullers, 56, both of Butler, collided at Route 308 and Leeway Drive in Center Township. Bullers' vehicle then hit an embankment. Yartz was cited for a stop sign violation.10:35 a.m. Tuesday — Louise Ann Leonard, 47, of Renfrew was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car hit a guardrail at Routes 68 and Old Route 68 in Forward Township.6 p.m. Monday — George E. McGary IV, 36, of Prospect was arrested in connection with an alleged domestic assault at a home on North Franklin Street in Prospect. McGary was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.4:51 p.m. Oct 25 — Bernard Abney, 50, of Salley, S.C., lost control of his semi-tanker truck and it hit an embankment and tree along Route 268 in Parker Township. When Abney tried to get back onto the road, his truck collided with a car driven by John Gorsuch, 57, of Callensburg, Clarion County.The car became wedged under the rig, which dragged the car for a short distance. Gorsuch, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a moderate injury. He was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital. Abney was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
3 a.m. Wednesday — Sean P. Ward, 18, of Indiana, Pa., was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 422 at the Graff Bridge in North Buffalo Township. Police said they also found Ward with a small amount of suspected marijuana.
2:30 p.m. Oct. 27 — A pair of unknown hitchhikers are suspected in the theft of an elderly man's wallet. The 87-year-old Mercer man had given the couple, a male and female, a ride to Routes 208 and 58 in Grove City.The male suspect is described as a thin, younger male, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He has tattoos on his chest and stomach.
