ZELIENOPLE — The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau has elected new officers for the board of directors. They are:

• Chairwoman, Jackie Gillespie-Ralston, Pittsburgh Marriott North;

• Vice chairman, Larry Berg, Maridon Museum;

• Treasurer Ed Tanski, Buttercup Campground;

• Secretary Dan Bickel, Moraine State Park.

These positions are for a one-year term.

Housing official to get 'hero' award

Kevin Boozel, director of the Butler County Housing Authority, will receive the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania's Unsing Hero Award for the heading the authority's efforts to help the homeless.

The award will be presented Nov. 9 at the alliance's Homes Within Reach conference in Harrisburg.

The authority's has transitional housing for homeless adults between 18 and 62 years old at Deshon Place I and II on the grounds of the VA Medical Complex on New Castle Road in Butler Township.

ELWOOD CITY — Clem's RV & Trailer Sales on Route 65 has been recognized as North America's longest tenured Coachman RV dealer.Clem's has been a Coachman dealer since the RV company was founded in 1964.Randy Giancola, son of business founders Clem and Helen Giancola, is general manager of Western Pennsylvania's largest RV dealer featuring seven product lines of new and used travel trailers, as well as fifth-wheels, tent campers and used motorhomes.

STATE COLLEGE — John J. Zak has joined Rex Energy Corp.'s board of directors.Zak is a partner in the law firm of Hodgson Russ LLP in the firm's Corporate & Securities Practice Group.Rex Energy has Marcellus Shale natural gas wells in Butler County and an office in Butler.

BUTLER TWP — The VA Butler Healthcare has redesigned its website for easier use by veterans.The site, www.butler.va.gov, includes interactive media and social networking links, as well as links to additional resources, news and eduction.

CRANBERRY TWP — Westinghouse Electric has appointed George Hobbs as vice president, manufacturing processes.Hobbs will be responsible for the Westinghouse Manufacturing System, a business model that joins best practices from the nuclear and manufacturing industries. He also will lead the development of the manufacturing competency as dean of the Manufacturing College of Westinghouse University, the company's strategic learning architecture. Hobbs had been plant manager of the Westinghouse Nuclear Component Manufacturing facility and director of Korean Projects. He will be at the Westinghouse Newington, N.H., facility.
