The league season has just begun, but does it feel as though your season is drifting away from you?If you have racked your brain for an answer to your early-season problems, maybe you are "drifting."For example, when you line up on the approach, you put your right foot on the second dot from the right on the approach. You then target the first arrow on the lane. But, for some reason, when you release the ball, it crosses somewhere between the first and second arrow. If that happens, check to see where your feet ended up at the foul line. If you ended up on the second dot, chances are you pulled the shot. If you are two or three boards to the left of the second dot, you drifted during your approach.Focus on walking on a straight line toward the foul line. It might be the answer to your troubles.

Bo Ordy had a fantastic bowling career. In 1965, Ordy became the first bowler to roll a perfect game in the Pittsburgh Tenpin Bowling Association Tournament. He rolled it at Pines Plaza Lanes. The same season, Ordy rolled three 268 games during the Channel 4 television bowl-off at Family Lanes. The 804 series was one of just 13 800 series rolled in the entire country that year.Top scores• Butler City Tenpin: Ron Lehman 257 (757), Ron Henry 268 (723), Brian Marcellus 289 (264), Troy Strezeski 278 (701)• Coins: Stacey George 204 game, Mary Schultheis, 572 series• Armco C: Jack Elliot Jr. 299 (666), Ed Kellerman 278 (736)• Troy-Alan League: Ken Schontz 252 (663), Jim Spring 234 (663), Mike Evans 259 (662).Special noteIt doesn't happen that often, but when it does, it's worth mentioning. He converted the split by bouncing the five-pin into the seven, then the five-pin hit the left sidekick, bounced across the lane and took out the ten-pin.Trivia answerDwight Crowe recorded an 802 series during the 1986-87 season.
