12:37 p.m. Sunday — David V. Friel, 44, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after his car struck a metal, decorative pole on the sidewalk along Pillow Street. Police also cited Friel for careless driving.

6:22 p.m. Tuesday — Two Prospect woman are accused of shoplifting three Xbox games from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Autumn Cobern, 21, and Ashley Thomas, 18, are charged with retail theft, conspiracy, possessing instruments of crime and possessing drug paraphernalia.1:24 p.m. Monday — A 17-year-old boy was caught with a bong in his vehicle at the Butler County Vocational-Technical School. The boy, who police did not identify, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tuesday — Unknown thieves stole diesel fuel from a truck tractor parked in a dirt lot just south of Arby's on Route 8 in Barkeyville. The theft happened between 10 p.m. Monday and 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday — Burglars overnight broke into the Bradys Bend Township building and rifled through office drawers. The unknown suspects left the building at Route 68 and Kaylor Road and cut the rubber tubing on a lawn mower fuel tank and stole about 3 gallons of gasoline.

7:55 p.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Laurie K. Reed, 38, of Butler struck a deer on Route 68 near Moose Road in Connoquenessing Township.3 a.m. Wednesday — Mary Bartman, 24, of Slippery Rock was arrested after she allegedly punched a 24-year-old Forestville man in the face during a domestic dispute at a Shields Road home in Mercer Township. Bartman is charged with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief.Wednesday — An unknown burglar stole about $2,100 from a safe at the Subway restaurant on North Main Street in Chicora. The break-in happened between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.Wednesday — A global positioning system unit valued at $130 was stolen overnight from a vehicle on Oak Drive in Jefferson Township.Wednesday — Police charged Georgette R. Fleeger, 39, of West Sunbury with forgery and theft for allegedly stealing a Chicora man's checkbook and forging two checks for a total of $40.30.4 p.m. Tuesday — Kyle E. Smith, 17, of Cabot was hurt when the car he was driving rolled onto its roof after hitting an embankment and tree along Clearfield Road near Marwood Road in Winfield Township. Smith suffered a minor injury.Tuesday — A green, Hitachi miter saw and a black, Delta saw stand were stolen from a Fisher Road home in Jefferson Township. The property, valued at $1,000, was taken between 8 p.m. Monday and 5 p.m. Tuesday.Monday — Police filed felony charges against Charles W. Hays Jr., 21, of Center Township, stemming from the January theft of an all-terrain vehicle from a Winfield Township home.Hays is accused of chopping the ATV into pieces, according to court documents. Troopers recovered the vehicle's rims and tires, gas tank and engine components from Hays' home on Mahood Road.Hays is charged with receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.Monday — Someone tried to break into Sevin's Tire Service on North Main Street in Slippery Rock. A door was damaged in the failed burglary between 4 and 4:23 a.m.2:15 a.m. Oct. 9 — Kenneth D. Yockey, 45, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Route 68 and Riebold Road in Forward Township.Oct. 7 — A Clinton Township man was bilked out of $5,500 when he wired the money to a bogus eBay account in California. The victim believed he was buying a motorcycle.
