Glenn and Dorothy Powell

Glenn and Dorothy Powell of Kittanning will celebrate 60 years of marriage and Mr. Powell's 80th birthday with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 23 in Heide Hall at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 409 Sarver Road, Sarver.

Powell married the former Dorothy Brison on Oct. 27, 1950, at Cabot United Methodist Church.

They have four children, Glenna Wetzel of Cabot, Judy Kitko of Winston Salem, N.C., Becky Cousins of Kittanning and Tom Powell of Kittanning.

They also have 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Powell is retired from Butler County Mushroom Farm. He is also the retired owner of G.A. Powell Auto Sales in Worthington. An active member of his church, he is a member of the 60 Plus group.

Mrs. Powell is a retired self-employed notary and former licensed real estate agent. She is active on church committees and member of the 60 Plus group in addition to serving as a communion steward.

The Powells belong to Cabot United Methodist Church.
