SR girls spank Ohio team

Morgan Siebka and Danielle Wissinger each scored twice to lead the Slippery Rock High girls soccer team to a 7-0 win over South Range (Ohio) Thursday.

Anna Cessar, Ali Lotz and Casey Dudek each had a goal, and Dudek had four assists.

Goalie Jordan Marks got the shutout for the Rockets (11-1-2, 6-0-1).

<B>Grove City 2, Slippery Rock 1</B> — The Eagles scored the winning goal on a penalty kick with 20 minutes remaining in the match.The Rockets (10-3) scored first on a goal by Cole McCandless.Grove City tied the score at 1 before halftime.<B>Mars 2, Freeport 0 —</B> Yulian Lutsiv and Logan Yeo scored for the Planets.Goalie Garrett Gabriel earned the shutout with help from defenders Chad Knox, Ryan Gralish and Preston Brown.<B>Knoch 4, Highlands 1 — </B>Klaus Ondrizek recorded two goals, and Erik Heinle and Nick Pfeiffer had one apiece for the Knights (10-3, 8-3), who got five saves from Andy Fritz.

<B>Knoch 3, Freedom 0 — </B>Stephanie Gross had 11 service points and 20 assists, and Julia Kleinfelder added seven kills for the Knights.Tori Lark had nine points and Celina Sanks six kills for Knoch (6-5, 4-3).<B>Freeport 3, West Shamokin 0</B> — Taylor Schrecengost had 22 service points as the Yellowjackets swept West Shamokin 25-20, 25-15, 25-18.Laura Prunty added 13 points, five kills and three blocks, and Ashley Sample had six kills for Freeport.<B>Mars 3, New Brighton 0 —</B> Katie King's 26 assists and Maura Randolph's nine kills and five aces led the Planets.Lara Caraway had 10 digs and five aces, and Brooke Finney had six blocks.<B>A-C Valley 3, Redbank Valley 1 —</B> Tricia Kerlin had 18 kills, Alexis Lineman had eight kills, 11 points and five digs, and Meghan Cratty had five kills, eight blocks and 11 points as the Falcons prevailed 25-20, 25-21, 15-25, 25-20.Emily Quaill had 20 assists, Meredith Snyder had 14 assists and nine points, Kelsey Boocks had six kills and Abby Wetzel had four digs for A-C Valley (5-2).Redbank Valley won the junior varsity match, 2-0.

<B>Tam O'Shanter Invitational </B>— Slippery Rock's Brett Rinker shot a 72 and won a playoff against Corey Morabito of Butler and Darryl Simmons of Elk County Catholic to win medalist honors.Slippery Rock finished second in the 35-team event. Butler was third.Mercer claimed the title by three strokes over the Rockets.It took Rinker three playoff holes to win. The Butler boys and girls teams each had triumphs over Shaler and Mars.Led by first-place finisher Evan Gomez, the boys downed Mars 18-39 and Shaler 23-32.Sean Gannon placed eighth in Mars' 20-38 loss to Shaler.Powered by Alex Swiergol's first-place finish, the Tornado girls downed Mars 15-48 and Shaler 17-44.Mars, paced by Maggie McChesney's ninth-place finish, fell to Shaler 21-34.<B>Boys Top 10:</B> Evan Gomez (B), Chris Grooms (B), Wakeley (S), Thompson (S), T.C.
