Jerry and Sandy Klingensmith

Jerry and Sandy Klingensmith of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a surprise sock hop with family and friends at the Butler Township Park.

Klingensmith married the former Sandra Bowser on Sept. 9, 1960, in Ford City.

They have three children, Barbara Zelinka of Butler, Les Klingensmith of Butler and G. Kevin Klingensmith of Evans City. Another child, James Klingensmith, is deceased.

They also have 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Klingensmith is retired g from Wise Machine, where he worked as a machinist.

Mrs. Klingensmith is retired from the Children's Rehab Center in Butler.
