10:19 p.m. Wednesday — Thomas J. Cipolla Jr., 27, of Summit Township was arrested for driving under the influence after he crashed his mother's sport utility vehicle, which he took without her knowledge or permission, into a retaining wall near Fourth Avenue. He parked the SUV and left.In addition to DUI, Cipolla is charged with receiving stolen property, hit-and-run, and possession of a controlled substance.

Wednesday — Police filed a felony theft charge against Bonnie E. Weibel, 21, of Chicora, who is accused of taking money from two cash registers at the Home Depot, Moraine Pointe Plaza, where she formerly worked. Weibel allegedly took the money in May and June,

9 p.m. Wednesday — An unidentified dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a car in the East Main Street Presbyterian Church, and did not stop. The Jeep should have damage on the driver's side. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925

8:10 p.m. Wednesday — Two people were hurt when a pickup truck driven by Robert Q. Durr, 42, of Ellwood City struck another truck at Dick and Whitestown roads in Connoquenessing Township.The other driver, Robert A. Skrak, 59, of Prospect, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Skrak's passenger, Mark R. Thomas, 43, of Butler, also had minor injuries. Durr was cited for a stop sign violation.

2:15 a.m. Thursday — James P. Schawl, 51, of Worthington was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Hillberry and Claypoole roads in West Franklin Township.

Wednesday — A thief stole two class rings from a home on Cranberry Road in Pine Township. The theft happened between Aug. 24 and Wednesday.The stolen rings are described as a white gold Penn State Class of 1970 and a yellow gold, with blue stone, Mercer High School Class of 1974.Anyone with information about the missing rings is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.Saturday — A purse, recently bought children's clothing, and personal information was among the property stolen from an Erie family's car in the Prime Outlets parking lot in Springfield Township.
