Garrett Greathouse of Foxburg is the recipient of the $11,000 Nancy Lea Sutton Scholarship.Greathouse is a senior at Allegheny College in Meadville.The scholarship was established through a bequest of Nancy Lea Sutton, Allegheny College Class of 1944, to provide a scholarship each year for a worthy student who has completed at least one year of study at Allegheny and who has participated with distinction in one of the college's authorized extracurricular activities.Greathouse's leadership involvement with the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity includes historian, philanthropy chairman, Interfraternal Council delegate, pledge class president, messenger, brotherhood development chairman and pledge educator.He is majoring in environmental sciences specializing in reclamation with a minor in environmental economics.A 2007 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School, he is the son of Angela DeLisio of Foxburg and Rob Greathouse of Tionesta.———
Caterina Coriglinno of Butler accepted admission at Edinboro University. She will enroll this fall to study elementary middle secondary education. A graduate of Knoch High School, she is the daughter of Frank and Debbie Coriglinno.——
Merritt Wuchina of Connoquenessing accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She will be honored this fall during an induction ceremony on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.The NSCS is the nation's only interdisciplinary honors organization for first- and second-year college students.——
Brittany Benjamin, a student at Seneca Valley High School, attended the University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy in July.UPHCSA is a residential four-week summer academic program for high school students. Students are introduced to the world of health care through reflective learning, team building, public health, research, personal development and two daylong shadowing experiences.Participants, all of whom plan a career in health care, discover the variety of professions available in the field.
