2:43 p.m. Wednesday — Robert J. Draper, 34, was arrested after he fought with officers looking for him in connection with a domestic dispute at his Mercer Street home, a police report said.Draper is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, 27-year-old Ashley Kuminkoski, and then leaving the couple's home.Police found him nearby at the Family Video parking lot on West Cunningham Street, but he refused to give himself up, and told police he wasn't going to jail. Eventually, police used pepper spray, but Draper ran across West New Castle Street. Officers chased and tackled him.Draper tried to hit and spit at arresting officers. He is charged with simple assault and resisting arrest.Wednesday — A $200 electric scooter was stolen from a garage in a burglary at a home in the 300 block of Third Street. The gray and black scooter is an EZ Glide model.Sunday — Hand tools, a gas-powered generator and gas-powered pressure washer were stolen from a garage in a burglary at a home in the 300 block of Marvin Street. The property take in the break-in Saturday or Sunday is worth an estimated $900.Sunday — Someone between 1 and 7 p.m. stole a purse from a car at a home on Fairview Avenue. The purse contained a wallet with $30 and credit cards as well as a checkbook and black Apple iPod. The owner said her car was locked but the windows were partially opened.
8:22 a.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Chad Provident, 28, and Maureen English, 53, both of Butler, collided at East Metzgar Avenue and Ritter Street. Provident was cited for an unspecified traffic violation.
4:20 p.m. Wednesday — Lois Miller, 62, of Parker suffered apparent head and neck injuries in a two-vehicle crash at Route 38 and Mahood Road in Oakland Township. Miller, who was driving one of the vehicles, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. Her condition was not known this morning.She was cited for careless driving.Rosemary Watterson, 56, of North Washington was the other driver.2:50 p.m. Wednesday — Michael L. Columbus Jr., 23, of Slippery Rock apparently fell asleep at the wheel of his car and struck a guardrail on Route 8 near Ralston Road. Columbus, who suffered a minor injury, was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.Monday — An all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a Garner Street home in Eau Claire. A black Dodge truck was used to haul away the 1986 Suzuki LT250 ATV.
5:57 p.m. Tuesday — Michael A. Kearney, 35, of Harrisville is accused of cursing at and threatening employees while trying to return an item at the Trader Horn store on West Main Street in Pine Township. Kearney is charged with disorderly conduct.9:45 p.m. Monday — A Venango County couple was hurt when an unknown small, dark-colored sport utility vehicle struck the back of a minivan at Route 208 and Interstate 79 in Springfield Township, and drove away after the crash. William B. Smith, 63, who was driving the van, and Paula Smith, 66, a passenger, both of Franklin, suffered minor injuries.Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.Friday — An unknown burglar between 1 and 6 a.m. stole money that was in the pocket of a pair of pants at a home on Enterprise Road in Pine Township.
Wednesday — A Jensen compact disc/DVD player and a global positioning system unit were stolen from a sport utility vehicle on Frew Mill Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The thief broke a window to get into the vehicle between 5 and 6 p.m.
