Marra 90th birthday
Thelma Marra of Butler celebrated her 90th birthday with a family dinner at the YWCA. The former Thelma Heichel was born July 10, 1920, in Butler. She married George Marra on Oct. 18, 1939, at St. Mary's Church in Herman. He is deceased.
She has nine children, Camilla Wilson of Las Vegas, Judy Spryn of Fenelton, Sandy Magyar of Butler, George Marra Jr. of Butler, Patty Rayl of Raleigh, N.C., Mary McConahy of New Castle, Rita McCasters of New Castle, John Marra of Butler and Dwella Rodgers of Butler.
She also has 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She served trays at Butler Hospital. When she was young, she loved to roller skate and enjoyed dancing.
She attends St. Paul Church in Butler and was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church in Herman.
