9:20 p.m. Wednesday — A Butler couple — Steven Brown, 43, and Pamela D. Bair, 41 — face criminal charges after police found them in a pickup truck parked on West Diamond Street. Police said while speaking to the pair, they learned Bair has a protective order against Brown.Police arrested Brown on a charge of indirect criminal contempt for violating the protection from abuse order. He is free on his own recognizance.Bair, meanwhile, who initially gave police a bogus name, is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities.11:51 p.m. Tuesday — Chad M. Spahn, 21, of Boyers was caught inside a car he allegedly broke into in the 200 block of West Brady Street. Police on patrol stopped Spahn after they saw him in the vehicle.The car's glove box and center console were ransacked. Police said Spahn is charged with theft from a vehicle and disorderly conduct.Tuesday — Nathaniel D. Teske, 23, no known address, is accused of stealing a Butler man's wallet at the YMCA. Teske allegedly used a credit card in the wallet to buy items at a pair of stores in the city.Teske is charged with theft, receiving stolen property and two counts of access device fraud.
1:20 a.m. Monday — Clinton L. Long, 33, of Renfrew was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 68. Police also cited Long for careless driving.
3:30 p.m. Wednesday — Two 16-year-old girls were arrested for shoplifting merchandise at the Boscov's store, Clearview Mall in Center Township. The suspects, from Butler and New Castle, are charged with retail theft.5:03 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by James J. Greggs, 20, of Cooperstown, Venango County, struck the rear of another car on Route 8 in Clay Township. Police said Greggs was cited for following too closely to the rear-ended car, driven by Ryan M. Rummage, 26, of Butler.Monday — An unknown vandal punctured three radial tires on a vehicle at the Robbie Way home in Muddy Creek Township. Damage in the vandalism, between 9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday, was estimated at $225.8:08 p.m. July 1 — Paul R. Keppler, 58, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck a guardrail and tree along Franklin Road in Slippery Rock Township. Keppler, who was wearing a seat belt, was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries.June 24 — A Davis .38-caliber pistol and a Franklin Mint collectible knife with a 4-inch blade were stolen in a burglary at a home in the 400 block of West Park Road in Worth Township. The break-in happened between 2:30 and 7:45 p.m.
3:54 p.m. Wednesday — Pickup trucks driven by Mark A. Conner, 48, of Emlenton and Walter G. Haupt Jr., 70, of Reno, Venango County, collided at Route 322 and Big Egypt Road in Cranberry Township. Police said Haupt was cited for a stop sign violation.
