Monday — Police charged Carey M. Johns, 32, of Butler with stalking his former girlfriend, Joanna Porter, following several incidents at her Goldwood Avenue home last month.Johns is accused of repeatedly driving past Porter's home and standing in her backyard, according to court documents.Later, documents said, Porter notified Butler Township police July 1 that the suspect was making harassing telephone calls to her workplace on Hansen Avenue in the township.
Tuesday — Police reported that two 17-year-old boys, both from Butler, are charged in a July 3 break-in at a home in the 100 block of Deshon Court. A computer and at least two bottles of liquor were stolen from the home.The suspects, who police did not identify, are charged in Butler County juvenile court with burglary and theft.
Noon Saturday — Jeffery Royer, 54, of Grove City was arrested on charges of harassment by communication and disorderly conduct after he repeatedly called 911 for no legitimate purpose.Friday — Scrap metal was reported stolen from the rear of a home in the 900 block of Superior Street.The theft, however, possibly happened as far back as June 30, when a neighbor recalled seeing a full size "greenish" colored pickup truck in the area. The truck was traveling north in the alley behind Superior Street and had something white sticking up from the bed, the neighbor told police.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Thursday — Police charged Charles Simon, 20, of Grove City in connection with the June 14 theft of a revolver from a Riverside Avenue home. Police later recovered the gun.Simon is charged with theft, carrying a gun without a permit, illegal possession of a gun by a minor, and corruption of minors.6:17 p.m. July 7 — Drew R. Ries, 22, of Grove City is accused of taking items from a woman's car and causing a disturbance in the area of his State Street home. Ries is charged with theft from a vehicle and disorderly conduct.July 7 — A set of keys was found on Grace Street near the tennis courts. The keys were turned in to police.
1:48 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Michael G. Dantonio, 18, of Butler struck a mailbox before traveling into a ditch and hitting a tree along Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Dantonio was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
5 a.m. Tuesday — Dennis Wade Lipps, no age given, of Rimersburg, Clarion County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township.
12:55 a.m. Tuesday — Two people were hurt when a car driven by Christopher A. Geibel, 22, of Grove City struck the median and rolled over on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. Michael Wegrzynek, 26, of Jackson Center, a passenger, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with moderate injuries.Police said Geibel, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for careless driving.Sunday — An unknown thief stole an Acoustic Wave music system, valued at $1,100, from the Bose store at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township. The theft happened Saturday or Sunday.
