Stebler 60th anniversary
Phil and Dotty Stebler of Cranberry Township celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family gathering at their home. They also held a celebration at the North Boundary Park shelter and swimming pool followed by dinner at Uno's Restaurant.
The Steblers were married June 3, 1950.
They have five children, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Stebler became a custom homebuilder in 1968 before his retirement in 1998. He is a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He served for 10 years as quartermaster with the Cranberry Township VFW and was commandant of the Ohio Valley Marine Corps League for two years. Presently, he is the chaplain for both organizations. He also designed the Cranberry Township Veterans Memorial and has been chairman and master of ceremonies at the annual Memorial Day ceremony since its inception in 1998.
Mrs. Stebler taught ceramics for 13 years after receiving the Best of Show Award at the annual Pittsylvania Ceramic Guild Show. She is a talented craftsperson and makes gifts for family and friends and designs her own specialized greeting cards.The Steblers were co-owners of the Esser Costume Company for more than 25 years, where they designed theatrical and masquerade costumes for sale and rental, many of which won national awards.The Steblers belong to St. Ferdinand Church. They reside at St. Leonard's Woods in Cranberry Township.
