The Smiths in 1950

Bill and Nora Mae Smith will celebrate 60 years of marriage with a picnic at their home.

Smith married the former Nora Mae Dunlap on July 2, 1950, at Chicora Methodist Church in Chicora.

They have four children, Hal Smith of Grove City, Penny Lawrence of New Castle, Dwight Smith of Sarasota, Fla., and David Smith of Canton, Ohio.

They also have 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Smith retired in 1989 from technical services at Armco Steel.Mrs. Smith graduated in 1949 from Butler County Memorial Hospital Nursing School. She retired in 1986 from Slippery Rock University Health Services.The Smiths are members of Slippery Rock United Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church in Arcadia, Fla.
