James Wayne Conner
James Wayne Conner, 64, of Butler died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 26, 1946, in Rimersburg, a son of the Christina Mittica Conner and the late Howard Conner.
Jim worked at the Pullman-Standard Car Co. in Butler until the plant closed in 1982. He then worked at Mine Safety Appliances in Evans City for a 14 years until his retirement. He formerly was a Pennsylvania state constable and a part-time police officer in Portersville and Harrisville.
Jim was a member of the NRA, and he greatly enjoyed antique cars.
Surviving are his daughter, Michelle Henry and her husband, Chris Henry, of Portersville; two sons, Michael and Brian Conner, both of Florida; his mother, Mrs. Christina Conner of Rimersburg; a brother, Larry E. Conner of Rimersburg; a sister, Patricia Myers of Rimersburg; a niece, Jessica (Scott) Burris of Sligo; a nephew, James (Tahnee) Myers of Knox; five grandchildren, including Lane, Cheyenne and R.J. His grandniece, Asia Burris; and his grandnephew, Phoenix Myers, also survive him.
<B>CONNER </B>— Friends of James Wayne Conner, who died Friday, May 21, 2010, will be received for 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
