Werth 70th anniversary
Richard and Gertrude Werth of Butler will celebrate 70 years of marriage with a family dinner Saturday at the Hardwood Cafe and a family reunion Sunday at Grove City Park.
Werth married the former Gertrude Gibson on June 26, 1940, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Winchester, Va.
They have six children, Janice Werth of Longwood, Fla., Robert Werth of Las Vegas, John Werth of Amherst, Ohio, Thomas Werth of Butler, Carol Greenberg of Merced, Calif., and Joyce Werth of Modesto, Calif. Another child, William Worth, is deceased.
They also have 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Werth is retired from the melt shop of Armco Steel. He enjoys making art.
Mrs. Werth is a retired realtor. She enjoys flower gardening.
They enjoy traveling in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska, and Canada.
The Werths belong to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
