The Rankins in 1950

James and Bernice Rankin of Saxonburg will celebrate 60 years of marriage with an open house from 1 to 6 p.m. June 27 at Roebling Park.

Rankin married the former Bernice Elkin on July 1, 1950.

They have eight children, Patty Brown of Elderton, Paul Rankin of Renfrew, Brenda McCormick of Cabot, Maryann Harris of Mars, James Rankin of Butler, Gary Rankin of Renfrew, Andy Rankin of Mechanicsburg and Rich Rankin of Butler. Another child, John Rankin, is deceased.

They also have 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rankin is retired from Wayne Sell Inc. after 40 years of service. He enjoys racing.

Mrs. Rankin is employed as a waitress at Kelley's Restaurant in Saxonburg. She enjoys bingo and gambling.
