Newcaster 50th anniversary
Michael and Stella "Dee Dee" Newcaster of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage by spending a weekend with extended family at Bemus Point, N.Y., and holding a family dinner at Hare 'N Hounds Inn hosted by their daughter and son-in-law, Jayanne and Gary Matthis.
Newcaster married the former Stella "Dee Dee" Pensy on June 25, 1960, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
They have one child, Jayanne Matthis of Fox Chapel.
They also have two grandchildren.
Newcaster is retired from Armco Steel. He is a member of the Butler Elks 170 and Moose 64. He is also a member of the Clearview Mall Walkers and Tanglewood Center. He volunteers for Meals on Wheels. He enjoys oldies dances, NASCAR, dirt track racing at Lernerville Speedway and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mrs. Newcaster worked for Spang and Co. She is a member of the Tanglewood Center and the Lady Duffers and Lake Arthur ladies golf leagues. She volunteers for Meals on Wheels. She enjoys dancing, doing crossword puzzles, walking, golfing, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
The Newcasters are members of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church.
