CRANBERRY TWP — Jim Ferland has been named president, Americas Region, for Westinghouse Electric.

Ferland, a former Westinghouse vice president who for the past three years has been senior vice president of Utility Operations for PNM Resources in Albuquerque, N.M., begins his new assignment Oct. 1. However, he will join Westinghouse in August to begin establishing the Americas organization.

At PNM Resources, Ferland was responsible for all regulated transmission and distribution operations for PNM and TNMP, utilities that serve electricity customers in New Mexico and Texas.

His appointment completes the Westinghouse regional leadership team which, as announced last week, also includes Anders Jackson and Jack Allen as the respective presidents of Westinghouse's new Europe and Asia regions.

In these new roles, Ferland, Jackson and Allen will lead Westinghouse's efforts to build customer relationships, develop business plans, capture new markets, and deliver projects and products in the regions they serve.

Ferland will work at Westinghouse's international headquarters in Cranberry Township.

BUTLER — The Hunter Family of Companies, with its headquarters in Butler, announced the promotion of Mark V. Rollinson to chief financial officer.He served in the controller capacity with Hunter since July 2001. Before joining Hunter, he worked for Schneider Downs & Co. in its audit department.He will oversee all the accounting and financial functions of Hunter's 15 locations in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.

The Butler-based architectural firm, Burt Hill, is designing a new school in Haiti with the help of Schools for the Children of the World.The school will be built about 35 miles west of Port au Prince near the epicenter of a recent earthquake. The École National Saint Rose de Lima in Léogâne will house 600 students in grades kindergarten to 13.The first of 11 school reconstruction projects in the Léogâne area to be designed and built in partnership with the Spanish Red Cross, The École National Saint Rose de Lima is a free public school in Léogâne. More than 1,100 girls attended the school before the January earthquake.

CRANBERRY TWP — Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community has been granted a license by the state Department of Health as a home care agency facility.The license certifies that the care and services provided in the community's patio homes and apartments by Sherwood Oaks companions and certified nursing assistants meet all state regulations for home care agency facilities.

PITTSBURGH — Dominion has announced that its natural gas transmission and storage subsidiary, Dominion Transmission, has a 15-year agreement with the gas subsidiary of CONSOL Energy to move CONSOL's Marcellus Shale natural gas production.The project, capable of transporting 200,000 dekatherms per day, will move supplies from central and southwestern Pennsylvania to market pipelines and storage facilities in Leidy, Clinton County.Dominion plans to file for a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission certificate in December. If the project is approved, construction would begin in March 2012, and it would go into use in November 2012.

EMLENTON, Venango County — Emclaire Financial announces it has been included in the American Bankers Association's Nasdaq Community Bank Index as of June 14.Emclaire is the parent company for Farmers National Bank.The index includes 450 community banks with a market capitalization of about $125 billion.
