Tuesday — Police charged Charles E. Smith, 57, of New Castle with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after officers found him about 2 p.m. June 4 slumped over his car steering wheel on Route 422 near Route 356. A blood test later showed he had drugs in his system.10:02 p.m. Monday — Tara Jo Selfridge, 27, of Butler is accused of shoplifting unspecified merchandise from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police said Selfridge also cut herself as she removed security tags off the items, causing her to bleed on other merchandise in the store.Selfridge is charged with retail theft and criminal mischief.6:32 a.m. Sunday — Jamie Pannell, 28, of Butler is accused of threatening emergency room staff at Butler Memorial Hospital after the staffers refused to pull a tooth for him. Police said he is charged with disorderly conduct.8:42 p.m. Saturday — Allen Hawk, 43, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after he was found passed out in a vehicle on Penn Avenue in Lyndora. In addition to DUI, Hawk is charged with public drunkenness and an open container violation.10:38 a.m. Saturday — Kevin Srock, 43, of Butler was cited for violating the township's burning ordinance in the 100 block of Rembrandt Drive.7:27 a.m. Saturday — A 17-year-old Butler boy faces drug charges after police were called to the 1300 block of Villa Drive for a report of three males smoking marijuana.The boy, who police did not identify, is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and underage drinking.3:22 a.m. Saturday — Andrew D. Direnzo, 20, of Butler was arrested for DUI on Alameda Park Road. In addition to the drunken driving charge, Direnzo is charged with DUI by a minor, underage drinking and making an improper turn.8:08 p.m. Friday — Dacia R. Walker, 21, of Prospect was nabbed for allegedly shoplifting a bottle of perfume at the Kohls store in the Butler Crossing shopping center. Police said an officer searched her and found suspected drugs.Walker is charged with retail theft and possession of a controlled substance.4 p.m. Friday — Linda L. Livingston, 52, of Petrolia was arrested on several charges after police were called for a disturbance at the Butler Medical Associates on North Main Street Extension.Livingston is charged with false reports to law enforcement authorities, false identification to police, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.2:50 p.m. June 4 — A 16-year-old Fenelton girl faces a pair of charges for fighting with another student at Butler Intermediate High School. The girl, who police did not identify, is charged with harassment and disorderly conduct.

6:30 p.m. Monday — A 16-year-old boy was arrested after he was found with a gun at Grove City Memorial Park.Police did not identify the boy, who faces charges in Mercer County juvenile court of illegal possession of a firearm, conspiracy to commit theft and receiving stolen property. The youth is being held at Keystone Shelter Care in Greenville.Monday — Police reported that two youths face theft charges for allegedly stealing two bicycles from a home in the 100 block of Park Street. The bikes, which were taken between June 1 and 5, were found June 9 in the area of Briscoe Springs.State Police,ButlerTuesday — Police filed charges against Daniel P. Slupe, 37, of Portersville stemming from the June 5 theft of a vehicle transmission in Winfield Township. Police said Slupe sold the stolen property, valued at $200, for scrap for $5. Slupe is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
