Anderson 50th anniversary
Jim and Shirley Anderson of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a dinner hosted by their family at the Oakview Golf Club in Slippery Rock. A family cruise also is planned for next year.
Anderson married the former Shirley McCloud on April 11, 1960, at St. John's Methodist Church in Slippery Rock.
They have two children, James Anderson Jr. of Slippery Rock and Daniel Anderson of West Virginia. They also have two grandchildren. Two grandchildren are deceased.
Anderson is retired from Castle Rubber after 44 years in maintenance. He is a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He enjoys hunting and woodwork.Mrs. Anderson retired after 31 years with Magnetics. She is involved in the outreach and kitchens committees of her church. She is a member of the Aebersold Recreation Center at Slippery Rock University. She enjoys crocheting and reading.The Andersons are members of St. John's Methodist Church.
