SHIPPENSBURG — Butler High's Briana Lumley placed seventh in the Class AAA girls shot put, making her the only Butler County athlete to earn a medal Friday at the PIAA Track and Field Championships.

Lumley's throw traveled 39 feet, 1 inch.

Slippery Rock's Haley Sefton finished 10th in the Class AA girls pole vault, Knoch's Allyson Cress was 11th in the Class AAA girls shot put, Moniteau's Victor Santoyo finished 12th in Class AA boys triple jump, Slippery Rock's Sam Lotz was 18th in the Class AAA boys triple jump and Freeport's Darius Frantz was 21st in the Class AA boys triple jump.

The state meet continues Saturday.
