Elizabeth Keasey of Butler was named an Outstanding Senior by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Penn State University.
Keasey was recommended for the award by Paul Fischer, chair of the accounting department at Penn State, for her success in the classroom and potential for a promising career in accounting. The award is given to one senior accounting major at each of the 80 participating Pennsylvania colleges and universities. Keasey will begin her accounting career at Deloitte in Pittsburgh.

Timothy Johnston, a student at Karns City High School, was awarded a scholarship from the Guardian Industries Educational Foundation. Guardian Industries established the Educational Foundation to support the pursuit of higher education or vocational training by the children of Guardian employees.———Central Electric Cooperative announced its 2010 Good Neighbor Scholarship winners.The following students were awarded $1,000 scholarships to use at a post-secondary educational institution:

Larissa Fowler, a recreation management and tourism major at Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, W.Va., was listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. She is the Daughter of Lewis and Linda Fowler of Hilliards.
