7:59 p.m. Tuesday — David T. Duncan, 18, of Butler is accused of inhaling spray from a pressurized aerosol can before he crashed his car into the back of another vehicle on West Wayne Street near Upper Shore Street.The other driver, John Gyger, 68, of Jefferson Township, told police he was rear-ended. Gyger said when he slowed down after the crash, the defendant passed him on the right. The suspect's car traveled onto a sidewalk and hit a no-parking sign.A police report said the car then crossed both lanes, drove into a grassy area where it traveled around in two large circles and continued back onto the road before stopping behind Gyger's vehicle.Gyger told police he saw the suspect throw something out of the car and into a brush pile. An officer searched the pile and found a spray can of dust and lint remover.Police spoke to Duncan, who said he blacked out moments before the crash and could not remember what happened. He also admitted, the police report said, to inhaling from the aerosol can about an hour before the wreck.The suspect was given field sobriety tests, which he performed "extremely well," police said.Police charged Duncan with inhaling solvents, illegal possession of solvents and reckless driving.

10:04 p.m. Tuesday — James R. Hutchinson, 22, of Lyndora was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Hansen Avenue near Arbor Street.In addition, Hutchinson is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving without a license and a lighting violation.3:36 p.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Brandon Russell, 17, of Renfrew and Russell Kerr, 51, of Butler collided at Whitestown and Eberhardt roads. Russell was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.Sunday — Laurie R. Crawford, 28, of Butler is accused of taking unspecified items from another person during bingo at the Tanglewood Center in Lyndora, Police said Crawford also pushed the alleged victim.Crawford is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct and harassment.
