Saturday — Timothy Henry of Center Township told police someone stole between $200 and $300 from his unlocked car parked in the Veterans of Foreign Wars parking lot. The car was in the lot between 5:15 and 8:15 p.m. He said the money was inside a bag.
8 a.m. Sunday — Robin J. Hicks, 45, of Sarver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was found asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle outside a Chicora Road home in Oakland Township. Police said Hicks also was cited for public drunkenness.8:42 p.m. Friday — Alan C. Perine, 47, of Cabot was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his all-terrain vehicle hit an embankment and rolled over on Sarver Road in Winfield Township. Police said Perine, who suffered a minor injury, was cited for driving an unauthorized vehicle on a road.8:39 p.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Dona L. Weigand, 46, of West Sunbury crashed on Route 308 in Clay Township when a deer ran into the road.8:20 a.m. Thursday — An unidentified vehicle struck a car on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township, and did not stop after the crash. James Gomola, 26, of Grove City was driving the car that was hit.4 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Tracy S. Thorpe, 39, of Pittsburgh crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Thorpe, who fled the scene and left her car behind, was cited for careless driving and failing to immediately notify police of an accident.
4:48 p.m. Saturday — Thomas M. Abell, 47, of Worthington was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding without a helmet crashed onto its left side and into a yard on Glade Run Road in North Buffalo Township.Abell was thrown off the cycle.The bike slammed into a cement retaining wall and a sport utility vehicle parked in the driveway A medical helicopter flew Abell to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of injuries.
1 p.m. Sunday — Two people were injured when a van driven by Frank J. Wallace III, 41, of New Castle crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. Wallace and a passenger, Jason Wallace, 13, of New Castle, suffered minor injuries. Both occupants were wearing seat belts.May 1 — Steven Allen Johnson, 22, of Fredonia allegedly stole steel from along railroad tracks off George Junior Road in Pine Township. Johnson is charged with felony counts of theft, receiving stolen property, trespass and attempted theft. He also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
