Will Koontz tallied three goals to lead teh Seneca valley boys lacrosse team to a 7-6 victory over Carmel (Ind.) at Nextier Stadium on Sunday and improve their record to 16-0.

Butler's Matt Slamecka and Will Nesbitt dropped a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 decision to Fox Chapel's Brad Portnoy and Shankar Rajupet in the WPIAL Class AAA Tennis Doubles Championship on Friday.Both teams will advance to the state championship, which will be held May 28.The WPIAL team playoffs will begin today. Butler, the No. 2 seed, will square off in the opening round against Penn-Trafford.

Ryan Thompson captured first place in the 1,600 boys (4:33.0) and Haley Sefton won the girds pole vault with a school-record height of 10-6 to lead Slippery Rock at the Pine-Richland Invitational on Friday.In the boys meet, Sam Lotz was second in the high jump (6-0) and fourth in the triple jump (42-8) while Nick Steele was fourth in the pole vault (12-6). The 1,600 relay team of Thompson, Steele, Chris Dudek and Brandon Henry finished eighth (3:39.0) as did the 3,200 relay squad of Steele, Thompson, Dudek and Ian Kovski (8:35.0).On the girls side, Jess Bennett was sixth in the 3,200 (11:47.0) and the 3,200 relay team of Bennett, Casey Dudek, Danielle Wissinger and Sarah Cessar were fourth (10:08).

<B>Seneca Valley 17, Butler 7 — </B>Despite a pair of goals by Matt Bartley, the Tornado dropped this home match to the Raiders on Friday.Max Essig, Brian Bresnehan, Seth Horwat, Cory Hilliard and Nick Sutton also scored for Butler.The Raiders had five goals from Tim O'Shea, three apiece from Spencer Sonson and Mikel Dudenhaver and two each from Wendell Frank, Kylan Hill and Cole Fyock.
