2:30 a.m. Sunday — Jeffery Bears reported the theft of a flat screen Zenith television from his residence at 421 S. Monroe St. that occurred between 11 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The thief broke into the front window to gain access to the room.9 a.m. Friday — Leland C. Brown III, 48, of Pittsburgh was charged with driving under the influence-incapable of safe driving and driving under the influence-high rate of alcohol after police responded to a call about an erratic driver on Route 8. Brown's blood alcohol content tested at 0.24 percent. The minimum DUI rate is 0.08 percent.April 4 — Richard Curtis reported a hit-and-run accident that left his car damaged while it was parked outside his residence in South Ninth Avenue overnight. The bottom of the rear bumper was cracked and the driver's side rear tire was damaged.
January — Brent Lee Miller, 27, of Parker was charged with access device fraud after allegedly using the personal information of Lois Miller, 55, also of Parker, to open a credit card account and make nearly $269 worth of purchases with it in Butler, Mercer and Venango counties.
Friday — Nathan Andrew Slee, 23, of Rimersburg was arrested for theft after allegedly stealing various pieces of scrap from the garage of John Allen King, 69, on Long Lane West in Madison Township between Wednesday and Friday.State Police, New Castle6 p.m. April 18 — A 15-year-old smoker accidentally set fire to a parked car in a driveway at 255 George Washington Road in Scott Township. The car was destroyed.
Friday — David Miller, 24, reported the theft of an iPod from his vehicle while it was parked at the Eat 'n Park restaurant on Leesburg-Grove City Road in Springfield Township between 5:15 and 11:15 p.m. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.Friday — Luke Rice of Slippery Rock reported the theft of his wallet and a golf club from his locked vehicle while it was parked at the Hoss's Steak and Sea House in Springfield Township between 4:45 and 9:30 p.m. Rice's bank card later was used at a Sheetz convenience store down the road.10:16 a.m. Thursday — A turkey flew into the windshield of a minivan driven by Deborah Barbour, 54, of Erie on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township. The car was towed from the scene.
