Rotto helps Freeport top Deer Lakes

Madison Rotto struck out 11 batters and limited Deer Lakes to one walk and two hits as the Freeport softball team edged Deer Lakes 2-1 in eight innings Thursday.

Rachel Grubbs had a single and a triple for the Yellowjackets.

• Morgan Robison struck out eight batters and added a double and two singles to lead Slippery Rock to a 3-2 triumph over Grove City.

Feather struck out 12 batters and didn't issue a walk for Grove City.

• Indiana plated the tying run in the sixth inning and the go-ahead run in the seventh to slip past Mars 5-4. The Planets received two doubles from Taylor Ross.

• A-C Valley's Erin Larimore had a single. a double and 2 RBI, but a 17-strikeout performance by Pragle helped Venango Catholic to the 6-5 triumph.

• Moniteau's Ashley Lominski had two singles, two doubles and two RBI, but Clarion rallied for seven runs over the final three innings to pull out a 9-8 KSAC victory.
