Robert L. Frishkorn, former Harmony police chief

Robert L. Frishkorn, 87, of Evans City died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 20, 1922, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Gillespie) Frishkorn.

Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic.

He was the chief of police in Harmony, a constable for Jackson Township, and a life member of the Evans City Sportsman's Club, where he was an accomplished trap shooter.

He retired from Halstead Industries after many years. While in retirement, he worked at the Butler Auto Auction.

In addition, he was a member of the American Legion Post 474 in Zelienople and St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City.

Robert and his wife spent the winter months in Florida and traveled to many places in their camper, the "5th wheel."

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Uldine Rae (Leasher) Frishkorn, who he married July 23, 1947; a daughter, Janice Waldemyer of Grove City; two grandchildren, Cheryl Alverado and Jeffrey Waldemyer; four great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, William, Samuel and Harvey Frishkorn; and five sisters, Geneva Thompson, Margaret Abbott, Melissa Duncan, Mary Ramsey and Martha Fahnestock.

<B>FRISHKORN</B> — Friends of Robert L. Frishkorn, who died Friday, March 19, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David R. Saylor officiating.
