The Newmans in 1950

Charles and Mary Newman of Slippery Rock will celebrate 60 years of marriage.

Newman married the former Mary Noel on April 22, 1950, at St. Aloysius Church in Wilmerding.

They have one child, James Newman of California.

Newman is retired from the Marine Corps. He is a retired past commander of VFW 207 in Turtle Creek. He is also past Seam Squirrel 19 Military of the Cooties. He is a life member of American Legion 117 and VFW 249. He is also a life member and vice commandant of the Bantam Marines 675 Military Order of the Devil Dogs 213, southwest division of Western Pa.Mrs. Newman is retired.
