10:18 a.m. Sunday — A pickup apparently slipped out of gear at a parking lot at Center and Brown avenues, and struck the rear of a parked sport utility vehicle. The SUV was pushed into a concrete wall.Ted Meals, 47, of Monaca, Beaver County, told police he had parked his truck, gotten out and was walking away when it began drifting backward.
4 p.m. Saturday — A mountain bike was found behind a home on Broadway Avenue in East Butler. Police said they don't know if the bicycle had been recently stolen and dropped off where it was found. Anyone with information about the bike is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.9:21 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Amy McConnell, 36, of Petrolia crossed a double center line and sideswiped another car on Argyle Street in Petrolia. Police said McConnell was cited for a lane violation. Edward Connor, 77, of Butler was driving the other car.8:35 p.m. Friday — Two 15-year-old girls, who police did not identify, are accused of retail theft for allegedly shoplifting merchandise from four stores at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.3:40 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Theron S. Phetteplace, 20, of Butler struck a mailbox, spun around and hit a utility pole along Unionville Road in Franklin Township. Police said Phetteplace, who was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries, was cited for careless driving.3:25 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Sean R. Hamilton, 18, of Cranberry Township and a sport utility vehicle driven by Ronald W. Pollock, 36, of Zelienople collided on Spithaler School Road near Ruby Lane in Forward Township. Police said Hamilton was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.6:23 p.m. Thursday — A pickup driven by James E. Fleischer, 51, of Butler struck the rear of a car at Route 68 and Whitestown Road in Connoquenessing Township. Christopher Panian, 45, of Renfrew, the driver of the car, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Police said Fleischer faces tickets for careless driving and driving at an unsafe speed.Thursday — An unknown burglar stole unspecified items from a Dinnerbell Road home in Jefferson Township. Police believe the suspect could have been dropped off near the house or possibly parked near the Dinnerbell and O'Hara roads area. The break-in happened between 5 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.Tuesday — A would-be burglar used an unknown tool to try and pry open the main door at Blackbird Industries on Mahood Road in Clay Township. No entry was made in the attempted burglary between 7:30 p.m. April 12 and 9 a.m. Tuesday.3:30 p.m. April 12 — A small caliber handgun was found along McCandless Road in Center Township. The owner can claim the property by calling police at 724-284-8100.April 6 — Prescription medication and money were stolen in a burglary between 3:30 and 4:15 p.m. at a Boyers Road home in Mercer Township.
8:30 p.m. Tuesday — Robert Karl Stalker, 43, of Butler is accused of kicking another man in the arms and ribs several times during an altercation at the Route 68 Pub in Toby Township. The alleged victim, Glen. K. Stewart, 41, of Rimersburg, was treated at Clarion Hospital for injuries. Police said Stalker is charged with simple assault and harassment.
