Monday — Margaret Jones, 47, of Butler, a former manager at the Moraine Pointe Plaza's Giant Eagle, was arrested for allegedly stealing money from the store.Police said they charged Jones after an investigation turned up discrepancies between bank deposits and Coin Star receipts at the store. The suspect at the time worked there as the cash office manager.She is charged with theft and receiving stolen property, both third-degree felonies.12:28 a.m. Sunday — James McDeavitt, 25, of Renfrew was arrested for driving under the influence after his car struck another vehicle on McCalmont Road. Police also cited McDeavitt for careless driving and a lane violation. Mark Dishart, 43, of Butler was driving the other vehicle.9:18 p.m. Friday — Curt Gaiser, 53, of Connoquenessing was arrested for suspicion of DUI on North Duffy Road. Police said he also faces charges of failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving with suspended registration.9:18 p.m. Friday — George DiCicco, 23, of Connoquenessing was arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop in Butler Commons. Police said DiCicco, who was a passenger in the car that police stopped, also was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.DiCicco, police said, was placed in Butler County Prison stemming from the warrant.7:50 p.m. Thursday — Kyle Toth, 18, of Butler is accused of throwing a mouse through the drive-thru window at the McDonald's restaurant in Greater Butler Mart. Police said Toth is charged with disorderly conduct.
8:14 p.m. April 5 — John C. Cross, 60, of New Castle is accused of hit-and-run after a two-vehicle crash on Campus Drive near East Main Street. Police said Cross, who did not stop after the collision, is charged with accidents involving damage to attended property and five other traffic violations.Sunday — Police seized 28 grams of suspected marijuana and rolling papers from a student's room at Grove City College. Andrew Cummings, 20, of Ligonier, Westmoreland County, faces charges of possessing a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
5:15 p.m. Monday — Three Venango County residents are accused of shoplifting $166 in merchandise from the Boscov's store at Clearview Mall in Center Township. Charged with retail theft are Kenneth Lee Lowrie, 22, and Denise M. Lowrie, 24, both of Franklin; and Lisa C. Walter, 20, of Seneca.12:15 a.m. Sunday — James W. Noblit, 25, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck struck an embankment and flipped onto its roof on Route 138 near Hunter Ridge Road in Clay Township. Noblit was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Police said he was not wearing a seat belt.Sunday — An unknown vandal between 12:30 and 9 a.m. damaged numerous mailboxes and mailbox posts along Elgin's Lane in Callery.
