Burka

Frank "Teddy" Theodore Burka Jr., 67, of Sarver passed away Friday at the Saxony Health Center following a long battle of health issues.

He was born Feb. 11, 1943, in Pittsburgh. He was the son of Frank T. Burka Sr. and Mary Burka of Pittsburgh.

Frank graduated from Sharpsburg High School in 1961, followed by barber school and business college. He was self-employed his entire life. He was the owner of two barber shops, the owner of Burka Building Systems and also had multiple successful businesses.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and had a love for animals.

He is survived by his children, Frank Burka III of Butler, Shari Burka of Cabot, John Burka of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Carrie Burka-Ragland of Butler and Lori Burka of Cabot. Also surviving are his siblings, Margaret (Peggy) Burka-Shelestak of Sarver, Hugh Burka of Landisburg, and Bridget Burka-Rosewell of Glenshaw; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
