Elizabeth K. Ewart, 86, of Renfrew died Monday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 26, 1923, in Youngstown, Ohio, and was the daughter of John and Grace Dibb Killius.

She had been a secretary for the J.A. Ewart Insurance Agency and also was a housewife.

She was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

She was a veteran of the U.S. Army Nursing Corps and was a second lieutenant during World War II with the 318th General Hospital from 1945 to 1946, and she also served on Hawaii, Okinawa and the main island of Japan.

She is survived by two sons, John and his wife, Susan, Ewart of Butler and James Ewart of Renfrew; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Joan) Stanley of Virginia and Ella Jean Murray of Kentucky; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband, James A. Ewart, who she married in August 1946. He died Dec. 4, 2003.

<B>EWART</B> — There will be no visitation, and burial for Elizabeth K. Ewart, who died Monday, March 1, 2010, will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brothers Brother Foundation, 1200 Galveston Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15233.Arrangements were by the <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home</B>, Prospect.
