4:52 p.m. Wednesday — A Butler Ambulance Service crew had to revive a 26-year-old man who suffered an apparent drug overdose at his Amy Avenue home, city police said.Authorities were called and found Patrick Ian Finley unresponsive and lying on the bathroom floor. Butler Fire Department medics were first to get inside and found a syringe on the floor.He regained consciousness after ambulance workers administered Narcan, a drug used to counteract the effects of heroin, according to a police report.Police said they checked the bathroom and found a spoon with suspected heroin residue and three empty stamp bags of heroin.When officers told Finely he had overdosed, the police report said he replied, "I have no idea what happened."Police cited Finely for possession of drug paraphernalia.

6:25 p.m. Wednesday — Carrie Sykes, 23, of Butler was hurt when she lost control of her car and struck a center Jersey barrier head-on on Route 422 between the Lyndora exit and Benbrook overpass.The car spun around after the crash, police said, hit an embankment and rolled onto its roof. Sykes, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.

1:04 p.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Jason J. Peduzzi, 34, of Wexford struck the back of tractor-trailer on Interstate 79 near Sawyer Road in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Peduzzi was cited for following too closely to another vehicle, a lane violation and careless driving. Douglas M. Colwell, 38, of Bessemer, Lawrence County, was driving the tractor-trailer.
