Lewis E. Davis
Lewis E. Davis of Wintergreen Drive, Butler, died at 8:25 a.m. Monday in the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Sept. 4, 1915, in Oakland Township, he was the son of the late George L. Davis and Nellie Brown Davis.
Mr. Davis was employed by Pullman Standard, where he was a supervisor in the steel stores department. He retired in 1979.
He was a member of the former St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Butler. He was a member of the PIPP, the Pennsylvania Independent Petroleum Producers.
He was married to Gertrude Snyder. She preceded him in death in 1977. Following her death, he married Glyn Ferrier. She preceded him in death in 2006.
He is survived by three sons, Raymond Davis and his wife, Peggy, and William Davis and his wife, Mary, all of Butler, and Lewis "Mike" Davis and his wife, Patricia, of West Sunbury; three daughters, Carol Twentier and Kathy Kondos and her husband, Mike, all of Butler, and Donna Kirk and her husband, Ken, of Jay, Fla.; one brother, John Davis of Butler; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanne Shields; one sister, and three brothers.
<B>DAVIS</B> — Family and friends of Lewis E. Davis, who died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Andrew Brewer of the Christ Outreach Church officiating.
