David Martin Myers
David Martin Myers, 84, of Zelienople, formerly a resident of Pitcairn for more than 70 years, died Wednesday, Feb. 10.
He was the husband of Virginia L. (Zimmerman) Myers for 62 years; father of Jay D. (Deborah K.) Myers of Cranberry Township; grandfather of Joshua Quaye William Landis, James Hunter Myers and David Kane Myers.
Martin was a World War II Army veteran, served in the European theater, including the Anzio Beach Head Invasion with the Third Infantry Division and obtained the rank of corporal.
He was a life member of Pitcairn Hose Company No. 1, a member of Valley Lodge 613 F&AM and a member of the Church of the Brethren in Monroeville.
He retired from General Motors, Fisher Body, in West Mifflin after 36 years of service.
An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of East Branch Hunting and Fishing Camp and enjoyed traveling domestically and abroad, with his favorite place being the Canadian Rockies.
