Robert G. Blumling

Blumling

Robert George Blumling, 79, of New Haven Court, formerly of West North Street, Butler, passed away Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital, 10 days after suffering an abdominal aneurysm rupture.

Born Oct. 7, 1930, in Butler, he was the son of the late Pauline Evans Blumling Lauer and Howard Blumling. He was a graduate of Butler High School, and he attended New Mexico Western College as a member of the armed forces.

After serving in the Korean War, he was the local U.S. Air Force recruiting sergeant for the Butler area. He retired from a career as an insurance investigator.

He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.

He was married to Violet Lukosky of Cabot, who passed away in 1965 at the age of 43. He raised their two children as a single father.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. Blumling and Karen Brown of Pittsburgh; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Mac McAllister of Butler; and his granddaughter, Amy Blumling, who attends Emory University in Atlanta.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Blumling and his longtime companion, Ann L. Young.

<B>Blumling </B>— Friends of Robert George Blumling, who died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, Butler.A Mass of Christian Burial also will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
