Viola Porter

Viola Porter of Butler, formerly of Valencia, celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends with dinner at the Rocky Mountain Deli.

The former Viola Kummer was born March 2, 1920. She married Orvis Kaufman on June 14, 1943. He died in a hunting accident in 1947. She married Charles Porter on Dec. 15, 1952. He is deceased.

She has two children, Robert Kaufman of Butler and James Porter of Raleigh, N.C. She has two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also has two stepchildren, four step-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She worked at many places, including Easley's and the Meridian Inn.

She enjoys baking, visiting friends and spending time with her family.

She is a member of Glade Run Presbyterian Church.
