Beverly and Robert Mortimer

Robert and Beverly Mortimer of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a dinner with family and friends at Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church. In lieu of gifts, guests took donations for the Mt. Chestnut food cupboard.

Mortimer married the former Beverly Daugherty on Dec. 8, 1959, in Butler.

They have five children, Cynthia Wabwen of Butler, Donna Osborne of Butler, Julie Mortimer-Phipps of Prospect, Robert Mortimer of Portersville and Brian Mortimer of Butler.

They also have 11 grandchildren, one stepgrandchild and one step-great-grandchild.

Mortimer is retired from Berry Metal in Zelienople, where he worked as a truck driver. He is an avid golfer and served several years as a reservist in the National Guard.

Mrs. Mortimer is a homemaker. She enjoys spending time with family and baby-sitting her grandchildren.

The Mortimers are active members of Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, where Mr. Mortimer is a deacon and Mrs. Mortimer is a former deacon. They also are involved with the Mt. Chestnut food cupboard.
