BUTLER BASKETBALL

Members of the Butler High boys basketball team, sporting a 14-7 record, 7-4 in section 3-A, prepare to take on rival New Castle in this Butler Eagle archive photography from Feb. 16, 1966. Coach Don Cavalero, left, and head mentor Ed Hepe, right, pose with their 1965-66 team. Front row, from left, shows Dave Cavalero, Larry Thompson, Randy Huey, Tom Walsh and Bill Quigley. Back row, from left, features Tim Manor, Ray Knauer, Rich Saul, Larry Maloney and Harry Masters. Meanwhile, winter weather has played havoc with basketball schedules. The Butler High boys varsity and JV basketball games at Central Catholic were postponed Monday and rescheduled for Tuesday, but Butler canceled school Tuesday because of weather.
