Florence K. Winchell
Florence K. Winchell, 100, of Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony, formerly of Connoquenessing, died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 27, 1909, in Lancaster Township, she was the daughter of the late Nesbitt N. and Margaret L. (Bieber) Boyer.
Mrs. Winchell was a member of the Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church in Whitestown and a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Connoquenessing. She enjoyed making quilts, crocheting, flower gardening, cooking Sunday supper for her family and playing 500 card game.
She is survived by two sons, Edward L. Winchell of Arizona and Alvin R. Winchell and his wife, Pauline, of Evans City; five grandchildren, Lynnette Patton and her husband, Donald, of Prospect, Diana Peters and her husband, Wesley, of Butler, Aaron Winchell of Prospect, Bradley Winchell of California, and Bruce Winchell of Arizona; six great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Nathan, Bethany, Sara, Lori Beth, and Eric; a step great-grandson, Jeff; nieces; and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theron E. Winchell, who died Jan. 25, 1984; a brother, Ira W. Boyer; and a sister, Martha M. Kirker.
<B>WINCHELL</B> — Friends of Florence K. Winchell, who died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 116 E. Main St. Evans City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Allison, her church pastor, officiating.
